2006 Holiday Greeting letter with a gift book from NACPU

December 4, 2006

Dear Honorable U.S. Senator/House Representative:

It is a great pleasure to write a letter to you. On behalf of the
Chinese-American community and members of the National Association
for China's Peaceful Unification (NACPU), I am writing this letter
to expresses our warmest season's greeting to you.

We also gladly present you a holiday gift book entitled "One
Country, Two Systems" in Taiwan, written originally in Chinese by
Dr. Hsing Chi, and now translated into English by Dr. Sheng-Wei Wang.
Both of them were born and educated in Taiwan and later earned
their advanced degrees in the U.S. On November 6 of this year,
they proudly presented this book at the new book ceremony in
the Library of Congress. The book not only represents some
Taiwanese people's wish of reuniting with Chinese mainland, but
also points out that 1) many Taiwanese people do not fully
understand the concept of "one country, two systems" due to
the negative political propaganda of the current Taiwan
authorities and separatists; 2) "one country, two systems" is the
best way to maintain Taiwanese and mainland Chinese people's
current political systems and life style; and 3) "one country,
two systems" can ensure the safety of the Taiwan Strait.

The Taiwan issue is the core challenge of the Sino-U.S. relations;
only after it is resolved can the two countries truly develop
a normal and cooperative relationship. America is a great country
and has many great politicians and citizens who love world
peace. I, therefore, think that Americans could understand the
deep pain and sorrow that many Chinese people have suffered due
to the Chinese Civil War and the subsequent 57-year separation
of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. I, hereby, sincerely wish
that after reading this book, you would be willing to help
China's reunification, continuing to support the "one China"
policy, and not interfering with Chinese people's reunification
effort. We would be very happy to accept an appointment with
you to discuss further the Taiwan issue and Sino-U.S. relations,
if you would be interested. Our contact information is listed below.

In closing, we wish you a Merry-Christmas and a great success
in the coming year.

Respectfully yours,

Hunter Huang
